CfE News Feature, Canada VC Watch Interview, and a Major User Growth Spike

After months of building out of the CfE, the work is starting to show: we were featured by U of T Entrepreneurship, we’ve got a new Canada VC Watch interview coming soon, and our user growth jumped roughly 300% week over week.

This week was a big one for Steer. We were featured by the University of Toronto’s Centre for Entrepreneurship in an article by Victoria Man, and it put into words something we’ve felt for a while: the CfE co-working membership at the Schwartz Reisman Innovation Campus has been a major part of how we’ve been able to build and grow.

The space hasn’t just been somewhere to sit with laptops. It’s helped us work, stay consistent, and move faster without the stop-and-start that comes from working in scattered places. Being surrounded by other founders, having reliable meeting rooms, and being in a professional environment has made our day-to-day execution better. Since joining, we’ve rebuilt major parts of the product, improved how we operate, and hit milestones in weeks that previously would have taken months.

We also recorded another interview this week with Seamus Galivan for Canada VC Watch, which is coming out soon. We talked about Steer, the VC landscape, our earliest users, lessons and much more.

We’ve seen one of the biggest spikes we’ve ever had, people reading the CfE article, searching Steer, finding us online, and signing up. Our growth is up roughly 300% week over week, and we expect that pace to keep up as more people come across Steer through articles, interviews, and other posts being published.

Steer exists because relationships change what doors you can even see. This week was a reminder of that on our side too: the right place and the right community can make a huge difference. We’re grateful to the CfE, grateful to everyone who shared the story, and grateful to everyone new who found Steer this week.
