A Big First Week at the Schwartz Reisman Innovation Campus and Exciting Steer Updates

Settling into U of T’s hub of innovation and rolling out our biggest product improvements yet.

Our first week inside the Schwartz Reisman Innovation Campus at the University of Toronto has been nothing short of incredible. From day one, the energy in this space has been inspiring. We’ve already met fantastic people—entrepreneurs, researchers, scientists, and builders—who have been so welcoming and supportive. The community here is unlike anything else: incredibly kind, collaborative, and genuinely excited to see new ideas grow. Being surrounded by people who are building and experimenting every day has already sparked fresh conversations, new ideas, and new momentum for Steer.

At the same time, we’ve made major progress on the product itself. Our AI-powered messaging is now smarter and more personal than ever. When you swipe right on someone in our Tinder-like discovery page—whether it’s a top executive or a manager at the company you’d love to work for—Steer instantly generates a tailored professional message that draws on both your experience and theirs. This turns a simple match into the start of a meaningful connection.

We’ve also introduced detailed pre-filled profiles for every new contact. With email, LinkedIn, and professional background already included, you can jump straight into building relationships without wasting time on manual input. Soon, you’ll even receive an AI-driven analysis of each person, giving you deeper insights before you reach out.

On top of that, you can now send follow-up emails directly within Steer. No switching between apps—just one click, and your message goes straight to them. This means your entire networking flow, from discovery to follow-up, can now happen seamlessly in one place.

This first week has shown us just how powerful it is to be part of the University of Toronto’s innovation ecosystem, while also proving how fast Steer can evolve when we’re surrounded by the right people and environment. It’s only the beginning, but if this is week one, the future looks very bright.
