Mark Carney Visits Our Building at the Schwartz Reisman Institute

The atmosphere at the Schwartz Reisman Innovation Campus was electric today as The Right Honourable Mark Carney, P.C., M.P., visited and shared his vision for Canada’s future. For those of us who work here, building companies, researching breakthrough technologies, and shaping new ideas, it was a powerful reminder of the kind of place this is becoming.

Carney spoke about responsibility in times of change, calling this “a hinge moment in history, where our choices will be decisive. You have to act big… but you also have to know who you are.” His message was clear: Canada must lead, not follow, in the stewardship of AI, economic resilience, and public trust.

Working out of this campus every day, Steer sees firsthand how the community brings that mission to life, founders, engineers, researchers, policy leaders, all under one roof. To have a national leader of Carney’s stature speak here underscores the importance of what is being built in these halls.

At the Schwartz Reisman Institute for Technology and Society, innovation is never just technological, it is ethical, human centered, and for the public good. That belief is the foundation of this place, and it’s the same belief driving our work at Steer.

We’re grateful to be building from here, in a place where Canada’s future is not only discussed, but actively being made.
