Overview
We attended the Vercel Zero to Agent: Toronto event and hackathon hosted by Rootly and Makers Lounge, and we are excited to share a major developer milestone for Steer.
At the event, we demoed the new Steer MCP in a real hackathon build and received a strong positive reception from builders, developers, and teams exploring agent-first workflows.
The key update is this: Steer MCP is now compatible with Vercel v0, Lovable, and Cursor, in addition to the tools we already support across our developer ecosystem.
What We Built at the Hackathon
During the hackathon, we built a lead generation agent using v0 by Vercel. The experience was simple by design: a user could enter a company, role, interest, or another targeting attribute, and the agent would return a relevant person to connect with.
But we did not stop at "find a name." The agent returned practical relationship context that made outreach stronger and more specific, including:
- Shared interests
- Shared connections
- Relevant work experience
- Recent news and public context
- Career background
- Why this person is relevant
- Potential angles for outreach
This is exactly where Steer MCP helps most. It gives agents relationship intelligence so outputs are socially aware, not just technically correct.
What the Steer Developer Stack Enables
The Steer developer page highlights the core capabilities we demonstrated at the hackathon:
- Relationship graph access for context-rich people lookup
- Agent-ready workflows through MCP
- Security and scoped access model
- Platform plans for developers and teams
For developers, this means you can build agents that understand people and relationships with more depth. Instead of generating generic lead lists or cold outreach copy, your workflows can incorporate context that improves relevance and trust from the first message.
Why This Matters
Most AI workflows today are strong at task automation, but weak at relationship context. In real-world lead generation and introductions, context quality is the difference between being ignored and getting a response.
By connecting to Steer MCP, your agent can work with richer people intelligence and produce better recommendations for:
- Lead generation
- Warm introductions
- Relationship management
- Targeted outreach preparation
At the event, this was one of the clearest reactions we heard from other builders: relationship-aware context makes agent workflows more useful immediately.
Positive Reception at Vercel Zero to Agent
We were grateful to see strong feedback during live demos. People understood the use case quickly and could immediately map it to their own workflows in product, sales, founder outreach, and developer tooling.
That response reinforced what we are building toward: giving AI systems better context on people, so they can support better decisions and better connections.

Thank you again to everyone who organized and supported the event. We had a fantastic time, and we deeply appreciate the community support for young builders.
