Steer finished a large review of how people use the platform, and we learned many helpful things, and the results were clear, people are meeting others faster, getting help sooner, and saving a lot of time. Over the past few months, we asked users move through the app, who they match with, what happens after a match, and how Steer fits into their day, and from this we learned that many people are reaching others they could not reach before.
Many users said they were surprised by the size of the network, with over 200 million professionals, they were able to find executives, founders, managers, and investors in only a few swipes, and they told us they were shocked by who replied, and how quickly the conversations started. More than 75% of users got a coffee chat with someone they wanted to meet within their first two weeks, which is much higher than what people normally get when they send cold messages.
We also saw that more than 55% of users reached the main goal that brought them to Steer, whether they were searching for a job, trying to raise money, looking for clients, needing advice, or hoping for an introduction, and it was encouraging to see these things happen sooner and with much less effort.
Users also told us that Steer saves them about five hours every week, because they no longer spend time searching for people, writing long cold messages, or switching between many platforms, instead they can swipe, match, message, and keep moving forward.
Another thing we heard again and again was that the messages Steer creates feel simple, calm, and easy to read, and people said they prefer this style, and they like that Steer does not use em dashes, and they said the messages feel helpful, clear, and friendly.
All of this showed us that Steer is growing in a good direction, and the reason is the community, because every update we make comes from feedback, and every improvement comes from users telling us what works, what does not, and what they need next.
